About Me
My name is Esaí Morales. I first picked up a guitar when I was 6 years old. I spent my first few years learning the basics: chords and strumming. When I was 10, I began learning classical guitar.
At Santa Clara University, I majored in Computer Science and Engineering but continued with private classical guitar instruction. For 3 years, I co-chaired and played guitar and vihuela for Mariachi de Santa Clara, a group focused on spreading cultural awareness through our music at school and community events.
Growing up, I was heavily influenced by Mexican folk music, so I enjoy playing Spanish Guitar pieces or music of Latin America such as Tarrega, Jorge Cardoso, or Leo Brouwer.
